GovMark Council Membership Criteria:
GovMark Council exists as a peer-to-peer education/networking group for senior-level technology marketing executives who are employed at technology products and services companies, or at government agencies. Our plan is to grow our organization organically through relationships that already exist among established communities. GovMark Council intends to carefully balance the mix of service providers and marketing executives in order to provide a more valuable network for all those involved.
Service providers and salespeople are not permitted membership in the GovMark Council, nor are they permitted to attend Council events, unless they are an approved sponsor. For details on who is considered a service provider, please see below.
Membership decisions are made by GovMark Council’s executive director. Candidates are senior-level marketing executives who meet the following guidelines:
- Work for information technology product and software, hardware, and integrator providers that market to Federal, state, and local governments
- Currently hold a marketing executive position (i.e. director, VP, manager, CMO) where the organization’s revenue is at least $1 million annually
- Pay the $500 annual membership fee or $1500 group membership fee
GovMark Council grants public-sector membership privileges to individuals who meet the criteria outlined below:
- Work for Federal, state, and local governments in a public affairs or marketing/outreach capacity
- Hold a senior-level marketing position (i.e. director, manager, Public Information Officer, Public Affairs Officer)
- Pay the $500 annual membership fee or $1500 group membership fee
A "service provider" would fall into one of the following industry groups:
- Executive recruiters
- Salespersons, account executives, and business development representatives
- Law firms
- Accounting and consulting
- Printers and publishers
- Marketing, public relations, market research, or other consultants
- Real estate
- Banking
- Other service-related firms
